Well bred mare Last Love topped today’s third and final session of the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale at the Gold Coast.
Catalogued as lot 1231 and consigned by Peachester Lodge, Last Love was knocked down for $37,000 to Boomer Bloodstock after attracting strong interest.
The four-year-old, who is yet to go to stud, is a half sister to four winners including the former outstanding juvenile Brief Embrace.
Brief Embrace won four races and earned over $650,000. She won three stakes races and was second in the Group One Blue Diamond Stakes.
Over $470,000 changed hands on 150 lots during the session at an average price of $3,165 and clearance rate of 79 per cent.
“There was great value throughout today’s session with buyers no doubt delighted with their purchases,” Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said.
“It was nice to see strong interest from international buyers from the Philippines, Thailand, Korea, Hong Kong and New Zealand.”
“The session seemed to go pretty well with the quality lots well sought out and plenty of bargains to be had.”
“To boast an increased average on last year’s corresponding session is encouraging – as was the clearance rate of over 79 per cent,” Cox added.
The focus now switched to the National Yearling Sale – the first of three sessions to be conducted on Sunday.
