2012 BMW Magic Millions has announced the appointment of internationally renowned American actress, Brooklyn Decker, as the face of this year’s carnival and race day. Often travelling to Australia to shoot, Brooklyn has accepted her first official Australian engagement with the BMW Magic Millions.

Brooklyn gained international notoriety after gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2010, further cementing her place on ‘hottest lists’ internationally. Regularly modeling for prestigious international titles such as Vogue, Elle and GQ, Brooklyn’s Hollywood star is also on the rise. Earlier this year, Brooklyn starred in her first feature film, Just Go With It, opposite Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. 2012 will see the release of Battleship co-starring Taylor Kitsch, Liam Neeson, Alexander Skasgard and Rihanna and What to Expect When You’re Expecting, alongside Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez.

Brooklyn will be flying into the Gold Coast in January for Australia’s premier summer horse-racing carnival, attracting the who’s who of the thoroughbred industry domestically and overseas.

Brooklyn Decker said, “I am so excited to be coming to Australia as the ambassador of the 2012 BMW Magic Millions Carnival. I look forward to travelling to the Gold Coast to enjoy some sunshine, glamour and horse racing this year.

“I was actually named after a horse and I grew up around them in North Carolina, so seeing these majestic animals’ race and the yearling sales will be a thrill for me.  Plus I get to dress up in Myer summer racing fashions and millinery for the carnival, which I am really looking forward to!”  

Magic Millions owner, Katie Page-Harvey said, “Brooklyn is the epitome of glamour. She is known equally for her stunning red carpet fashion and for her beautiful swimsuit shoots. Magic Millions is a true fusion of racing fashion that is juxtaposed with the relaxed ambiance of the Gold Coast. Brooklyn represents this union perfectly and we are so pleased for her to experience our carnival this year”.

Page-Harvey also described how Magic Millions continues to be a thought leader in the racing industry, this year launching the first women’s only race.

“Our plans for the 2013 race hope to incentivise women to own horses within the thoroughbred industry and drive interest from women. We are holding a special event for women on Sunday January 8^th to demystify this very lucrative industry, providing an entry point through education and a substantial financial incentive. Becoming a thoroughbred owner can introduce women to a new world of opportunities.
