Magic Millions Sales company will conduct the inaugural “Australian Sporthorse Sale” on the Gold Coast, 13, 14 & 15 August this year.
The sale is endorsed by Equestrian Australia, and supported by leading industry professionals.
Traditionally a thoroughbred sale company, Magic Millions will offer for public auction horses from six major equestrian disciplines – Showjumping, Dressage, Polo, Eventing, Showhorse and Endurance.
Magic Millions has harnessed the combined skills of some of our leading equestrian talent to advise the company on selections and promotion, chosen for a combination of talent and understanding of sale process.
The committee working across selections and promotion for the sale includes the following industry professionals:
SHOWJUMPING: Adam Mellers (Selections), and Vicki Roycroft (Promotion)
DRESSAGE: Brett Parbery (Selections & Promotion)
POLO: Ginger Hunt (Selections & Promotion)
EVENTING: Tim Boland (Selections & Promotion)
SHOWHORSE: Kim Durante (Selections & Promotion)
ENDURANCE: Peter Toft (Selections & Promotion)
TIER ONE
Horses registered with Equestrian Australia, FEI, the Show Horse Council, or Breed Society will be eligible to enter TIER ONE of the sale - a select section exclusive to registered performance horses, and selected polo ponies.
TIER TWO
Selected Non-registered, performance horses and unperformed horses suitable for performance disciplines, over four years of age, will be eligible to enter TIER TWO of the sale.
YOUNGSTOCK
Unperformed registered horses under four years of age will be eligible to enter the YOUNGSTOCK section of the sale.
BREEDING SERVICES
The Breeding Services Section of the Sale will include the sale of CHILLED, FROZEN and LIVE COVER services.
Only Stallions with breeding services being offered at auction can participate in the STALLION PARADE.
Stallions present at the sales complex will be able to be presented in the sale ring at the time their breeding services are being auctioned.

ABOUT THE MAGIC MILLIONS SPORTHORSE SALE COMMITTEE
SHOWJUMPING:

Adam Mellers (Selections) - Having competed at Grand prix level for many years, Adam is one of Australia's leading showjumping riders, being successful both nationally and internationally. Adam is on the National Elite Showjumping Squad and is on the Queensland Elite and Developing Squads with his younger horses. Adam has two World Cup Wins to his name and has multiple high placings in other World Cups. He was selected to represent Australia competing in New Zealand three times, also competing in Bahrain, Korea, Dubai and Japan.
Vicki Roycroft (Promotion) - A member of three Olympic and three World Championship Teams representing Australia.Vicki has been an Australian Champion three times, in 1983 in Three Day Eventing, and in 1996 and 2005 in Showjumping. Vicki has also been to four World Cup finals representing Australia. She is the most successful Australian Showjumping rider, male or female, at World Cup Finals and is considered the best performing showjumper in Australia, having been selected as a member of more International teams than any other Australian showjumper.
DRESSAGE:

Brett Parbery (Selections & Promotion) – A professional dressage competitor who, since retiring from the pro-rodeo circuit 10 years ago, has committed himself to the development and training of competition dressage horses. Brett has had phenomenal success at both State and National levels, and has spent considerable time abroad in Germany and Holland refining his chosen discipline with the best in the world. Brett has built up a professional training stable based just north of Sydney; he competes at Grand Prix level and travels extensively to conduct his very popular coaching clinics. After the outstanding achievement of obtaining the highest dressage score at the Special Beijing Olympic Qualifier, Brett narrowly missed selection for the 2008 Beijing Olympic team on Victory Salute (pictured above). Career highlights include: Champion and Runner up 4yr old Australian Young Dressage Horse Championships at Dressage and Jumping with the Stars 2004 – First place 4 and 5yr old, Champion of Champions, and selected to represent Australia in the PSG Derby at Sydney CDI 2005 – First place PSG Saddleworld Dressage Festival 2006
POLO:

Ginger Hunt (Selections & Promotion) - Former polo professional hailing from Goondiwindi where he first began playing polo on the dusty south western fields of outback Queensland. Ginger has travelled the world playing the game dubbed the ‘sport of kings’, he has played in Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Hawaii, Barbados, New Zealand and represented his country captaining the Australian Polo team on many occasions. During his time on the world professional polo circuit Ginger played not only for Australia but also UK, USA, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Argentina and Chile. Ginger has rubbed shoulders and taught polo to some of the world’s most influential people including Prince Charles, the late Kerry Packer and the Sultan of Pahang.
EVENTING:

Tim Boland (Selections & Promotion) - Having represented Australia internationally at 3 day eventing, Tim has become well known for supplying horses especially in Europe, to the world's leading riders as well as ambitious juniors wanting the best and most suitable horses. Tim rode his best horse Limitless to be crowned NSW Eventing Horse of the Year in 2001 and 2003 and to win the Melbourne CCI*** in 2003. Tim competes extensively in Australia, and has also competed internationally at UK Berrima, Burghley and Badminton Horse Trials.
SHOWHORSE:

Kim Durante (Selections & Promotion) - One of Australia’s most renowned showhorse riders, Kim Durante has achieved remarkable success throughout her career with titles to numerous to list. Kim currently holds the Australian record for the Most Consecutive Hack Championship’s won in Australia, having won 10 consecutive Royal Show Champion Hacks at Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne Royals. Following in Kim’s footsteps is daughter Sabrina who recently won 2009 Grand National Rider of the Year, and followed this achievement with Junior Champion Rider of the 2009 Royal Sydney Easter Show. Kim Durante has for many years dominated the major championships at Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne Royal shows.
ENDURANCE:

Peter Toft (Selections & Promotion) - Peter Toft along with his wife Penny and daughter Alexandra, operate Toft Endurance. Owning several hundred Arabians in numerous locations around Australia and overseas. Based at Marburg and Fernvale in South East Queensland. Peter and Penny are very proud to have had thirteen horses represent Australia at World Championship level earning ten team medals since 2000. Included are 2 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals. Other top performances by Toft Endurance horses include individual bronze at the 1998 World Championships, numerous National Champions within Australia and success in Europe, North America and the Middle East. Toft Endurance owns the Legendary Endurance Champion “Chip Chase Sadaqa” (winner of the WAHO Horse of the Year 2008). |
