Strong Selling At Winter Sale

STRONG SELLING AT WINTER SALE

Top selling was the order of the day at the 2010 Magic Millions Perth Winter Thoroughbred Sale today with solid increases across the board.

Almost $800,000 was traded on 145 lots at an average price of $5,475 – up over 12 per cent from last year’s figure of $4,883.

The draft from Peters Investments Pty Ltd proved popular and kicked away the sale on a very positive note.

Grey Monarch, catalogued as lot three, topped the day’s selling when snapped up by local Allan Barnes for $65,000.

A last start winner just over a week ago, Grey Monarch is a winner of six of his 35 starts to date and earned $243,100.

The Verglas gelding gained black type when he ran a close second in the listed Aquanita Stakes to Famous Roman.

Another Peters Investments offering, Challis made $50,000 to the bid of Hong Kong based Ng Muk.

Magic Millions Perth Manager Murray Tillett was pleased with the results from today’s sale.

“We had a great line up buyers represented at the sale,” Tillett reported. “And the quality lots of the sale were well sought after.”

“The Winter Thoroughbred Sale has proven popular over the years and it’s encouraging to see the average price continues to rise each year.”
