Thief of Hearts another 2YO in Training Rising Star

Exciting three-year-old Thief of Hearts continued the winning run of graduates of the Magic Millions 2YOs in Training Sale when he cruised to a win in Brisbane on Saturday.

The son of Show a Heart became the 31st individual winner from last year’s sale further cementing its position as Australasia’s number one 2YO sale by winners, wins and prizemoney earned by graduates for 2013.

A graduate of Glenlogan Park, Thief of Hearts was purchased by trainer Stuart Kendrick for $65,000 last year and he looks one of the more promising young gallopers in the state.

He was sent out the favourite at his first run this prep and the Doomben win was described by Group One jockey Damian Browne as “arrogant”. At his only previous run he chased home Pinch River when second in the listed Dalrello Stakes.

Thief of Hearts is held in high regard by connections and he will now head south to play a part in the Melbourne Spring Carnival.

At last year’s Gold Coast breeze ups Thief of Heart zipped over the all weather track in 10.69 seconds in a performance which impressed Kendrick.

With a final breeze up session to be held on Monday already 96 lots heading to next week’s auction have run times for their timed 200 metre section under 11 seconds. Around 50 exciting prospects will breeze on Monday morning – a day before the sale is held at the Magic Millions Sales Complex at Bundall.

The Gold Coast 2YOs in Training Sale is the industry leader for both results and value. Over 200 two-year-olds will go under the hammer and with the record of previous sales there will be dozens of winners before the first anniversary of the auction is reached.

Graduates from last year’s sale have performed at stakes level in both Australia and abroad and winners have been recorded in Singapore, Macau, Malaysia, Korea, China and Australia.

Other star gallopers to have emerged from the sale in previous years include multiple Hong Kong Group One winning sprinter Eagle Regiment, champion Singapore galloper Gingerbread Man, Group One Aussie sprinter Fontelina and Shocking, the last Australasian bred winner of the Melbourne Cup.
