A world class catalogue featuring seven Group One winners and 111 black type performers will take centre stage on the Gold Coast in May at the 2026 National Broodmare Sale.
This year’s catalogue featuring 374 lots (plus supplementaries) selling over two days, Tuesday May 26 and Wednesday May 27, is now online.
Day One of the sale will feature racefillies and maiden mares including 56 stakes gallopers headlined by Group One winners Captured By Love, Legarto, Quintessa and Vibrant Sun as well as other top liners including O’ Ole, Stretan Angel, Memo, Storyville, Super Smink, Sassy Boom, Snitzanova, Military Tycoon, Aviatress, Lilac, My Lips Are Sealed, Real Class, Icarian Dream and Roll on High.
The broodmare section on Day Two features another 55 black type performers as well as proven Group producers and relations to present day stars and members of some of the world’s most influential families.
Among the mares catalogued on Day Two are Group winners Abbey Marie (served by Castelvecchio), Royal Merchant (I Am Invincible), Startantes (Anamoe), Amelita (Ole Kirk), Bonvicini (Zoustar), Fashion Shoot (Broadsiding), Impendabelle (I Am Invincible), Jennifer Lynette (Farnan), Limestone (Celestial Legend), Love You Lucy (Broadsiding), Moonlight Maid (Broadsiding), Pedrena (Shinzo), Seonee (Hellbent), Thalassophile (Ole Kirk), Turbo Miss (Ole Kirk) and Vagrant (Anamoe).
Three mares believed in foal to world class strike rate sire Extreme Choice will be well sought out as well as others covered by the likes of Anamoe, City of Troy, Home Affairs, I Am Invincible, Ole Kirk, Stay Inside, The Autumn Sun, Too Darn Hot and Zoustar.
“The quality in this year’s National Broodmare Sale is incredible,” Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said. “On Day One 40 per cent of catalogued lots are stakes winners or stakes placed – buyers are in for a treat.”
“As well as so many stars coming straight off the track or destined for more big race success, there’s a cracking line up of broodmares with appealing pregnancies.”
“It’s the most important breeding stock sale in the Southern Hemisphere and has been the sale that started the stories of racetrack superstars including Winx, Golden Sixty, Aeliana, Autumn Glow, Sunshine in Paris, Pierro, Zoustar, Stay Inside, Imperatriz and Nature Strip.”
“There’s no other place in the world to be, at this time of the year than on the Gold Coast. Our sale extravaganza coupled with the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival provides a thoroughbred lovers paradise through late May and June.”
