Helter Skelter’s Only Runner Wins Again

When Bette Harden handed over just $6,500 for the very first  Helter Skelter yearling she didn’t realise how many times she would be visiting her bank in the future!

Psychodelic stepped out in the 1000mtr Mt. Olivet 2YO Handicap on Wednesday at Eagle Farm and as usual led and won.

Bette and her husband/trainer Ted spotted the speedy Psychodelic at last years Magic Millions Horses In Training Sale and couldn’t believe the great value they secured from such a good type.

The quick son of Helter Skelter hasn’t missed a cheque for the Hardens and their partners, the meagre investment has already realised $28,000 in prize money with an impressive race record 5 starts for 3 wins, a second and a fourth.

The EI disaster and an ownership wrangle prevented the only son of English sprint star Piccolo at stud in Australia from landing any foal numbers, however all is about to change with the Magic Millions RM Williams Sprint winner heading to Craiglea Stud for the coming season.

Craiglea has already reported an increased mare book for Helter Skelter due solely to the outstanding achievements of Psychodelic on the track.

“Look at the runner/s to winners ratio, it’s got be the best in the land, one runner of five starts for three wins,” Stud principal Stan Johnston said.
