Joe Blow Another Racehorse Sale Success

Joe Blow gave his new connections plenty to cheer about and provided a timely boost about next month’s Magic Millions Racehorse Sale on the Gold Coast when he powered home to win yesterday’s $50,000 Ballina Cup (1600m).

He continues the winning trend of recent Magic Millions Racehorse Sale graduates who have been winning top class races throughout the country.

Buyers will get their next chance to snare a star of their own with entries now open for the next Racehorse Sale at the Gold Coast on Friday, October 21. Entries are now being accepted.

Yesterday’s star Joe Blow was purchased by his trainer and part owner Neil Godbolt for $4,500 at June’s Magic Millions National Racehorse Sale. Yesterday’s win alone netted Godbolt and wife Maxine a cool $32,500.

A son of Sadler’s Wells, Joe Blow was allowed to find his feet early in the 1600 metre feature event by rider Adam Nicholls before coming with a perfectly timed run over the concluding stages.

No sooner was the eventual runner-up Desert Bunny, a $5,500 Magic Millions purchase, being hailed the winner, Joe Blow and Nicholls were making strong ground against the rail.

So fast was Joe Blow finishing, that by the time the finish line was reached he held a widening length margin over Desert Bunny – who was in turn two lengths clear of third placegetter Ausworld.

Godbolt said Joe Blow would run next in either in the Port Macquarie or Lismore Cup.

Joe Blow is one of seven winners produced by the stakes performed and grand producing Strawberry Road mare Strawberry Girl.

A five time winner and runner-up in the listed Siren Stakes at Detroit in the United States, Strawberry Girl is the dam of four stakes gallopers – three of them stakes winners.

Her progeny include the stakes winning sires Danroad and Newtown Jet and the Magic Millions 3YO Trophy winner Tippitaka. She has also thrown the stakes performed sire Bullmore.

Joe Blow is a son of Sadler’s Wells – the champion international sire of 293 stakes winners including champions Montjeu, High Chaparral, In the Wings, Galileo, Carnegie, Barathea, Yeats and Islington.

The win was a timely reminder that entries are now being taken for the next Magic Millions Racehorse Sale at the Gold Coast.

That sale, immediately following the National Horses in Training Sale, will be held on Friday, October 21.

Nominations close on Friday, September 16. An entry form can be downloaded here. For further details contact Ross McKeown on (07) 5504 1212 or 0404 490 726 or via email.

Magic Millions’ recent Racehorse Sale have proven especially popular with owners, trainers and bloodstock agents and recent successful graduates including Hume, Strumming, Module, Glow Heart and Hampden.
