| Outstanding Perth racemare Admiration Express topped the Magic Millions Digital (17-22 April) Sale when selling for $280,000 today. |
| The multiple Group winner and Group One runner-up was offered as a breeding prospect by the stable that raced her with great success, Jason Miller Racing. Boomer Bloodstock teamed up with leading West Australian thoroughbred nursery Greenfields Lodge to secure the good looking grey mare. One of three stakes performers from the city winning Verglas mare Comme Ci, Admiration Express earned over $966,000 across her racing career. Admiration Express was purchased by Miller for $60,000 at the 2021 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale from the draft of Namerik Thoroughbreds. Her feature wins came in a Group Three WA Champion Fillies Stakes and Group Three Strickland Stakes. She also won the Listed Ascot One Thousand Guineas. It was in one of her six placed stakes runs that showed her quality and ability to a national audience – when steaming home to finish second in the Group One Northerly Stakes to Light Infantry Man. That galloper recently franked the form with success over Pride of Jenni in the Australian Cup at Flemington. “It is a great result,” her proud trainer Jason ‘Skinny’ Miller said. “We are obviously a bit sad because she was a very special horse for us.” “She is going to a good home and we wish her new owners the very best of luck,” he added. There was spirited bidding on a number of unreserved lots across the sale including Smitten (48 bids, sold for $35,000), Fierce ‘n Fabulous (43 bids, sold for $22,500), Playing Quest (41 bids, sold for $20,000), Zucchero (31 bids, sold for $27,500) and Zou Doll (31 bids, sold for $16,000). “First and foremost, we thank Jason Miller and connections for entrusting us with the sale of their special mare,” Magic Millions Head of Digital Bryce Bevan said. “After initially passing in, a deal was brought together very quickly post-auction which I believe is a reflection of the relationships Magic Millions has with clients on both sides of the transaction.” “Results like her today hopefully demonstrate to the market that when given the opportunity with quality stock, we can deliver outstanding results,” Bevan added. Entries for the Magic Millions Digital (1-6 May) Sale are open and will close on Wednesday, 29 April. For more information on Magic Millions Digital or to lodge an entry click here. |
