| Offered as a racing and breeding prospect, the mare, who placed in the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate as a two-year-old, attracted plenty of interest. “We’ve followed Earthstorm since her two-year-old season and have always believed in what she could do” said stable representative Kyle Sutherland. “She’ll stay in the West and join Stefan’s (Vahala Racing Stable) where she’ll race for at least another twelve months before eventually joining our broodmare ranks.” Purchased for $60,000 by trainer Russell Stewart at the 2023 Perth Yearling Sale, she has since accumulated $288,550 in prize money during her racing career. “The marketing was super. “I know that everyone who needed to see her, saw her,” said Russell Stewart. “The Magic Millions Digital team did everything they could and she could not have been marketed any better.” Other strong results in the racehorses, race fillies and mares categories—which achieved a combined clearance rate of more than 76%—included the well-related Midnight Star (Lot 26), which sold for $45,000 to PJ Racing. Last start Eagle Farm winner June (Lot 2) realised $30,000 selling to Home Creek Pastoral while unraced two-year-old filly Speedy Harriet (Lot 29), offered by Yarraman Park, was purchased by Jason Coyle Racing for $30,000. Shares proved very popular achieving a 100% clearance rate. The highlight was a 7.5% share in the unraced two-year-old Lucky General (NZ) offered by TFI, which sold for $13,000.
