Talented Perth galloper Decision Maker will be set for a string of country cups in Western Australia after topping the Magic Millions Digital (23-28 Oct) Sale which concluded Wednesday.
Decision Maker (Lot 5), offered by Parnham Racing, was snapped up by Mark Evans for $27,500 after attracting 27 bids.
An earner of almost $140,000, the Playing God five-year-old gelding was third at Belmont two starts back over 2100 metres. He has been a winner at 1600 and 1650 metres.
“He’s been a good horse that has done his job for our stable and I believe he is heading to the North-West for the Cups season,” his now former trainer Neville Parnham said.
“The team at Magic Millions Digital did a great job in marketing him and because of that he made twice the reserve,” the champion trainer added.
The buyer of Decision Maker was delighted with the new purchase – hoping his metropolitan form holds him in good stead with future ambitions in mind.
“It is an easy platform to use,” Mark Evans noted. “This was the first time we purchased via Magic Millions Digital and we found it very straightforward.”
“Our syndicate (Thursday Rump Syndicate) will aim him at some Cup races up north and have some fun,” Evans added.
Portelli Racing offered Farcolo (Lot 17) who was purchased by Philippines based client Cesar Avila Jr for $11,000 in a result that pleased her former connections.
“Very happy with today’s result,” Gary Portelli’s Assistant Trainer James Fathers said of Farcolo’s sale.
“We’ve sold a few horses on Magic Millions Digital now and from our perspective it’s only a positive for the industry that we now have an additional viable platform to sell stock when we need to,” Fathers added.
Other lots in the auction that featured strong bidding included Girls on Fire (Lot 18) who sold for $15,000 and Seastic (Lot 22) who sold for $14,000, both attracting 36 bids each.
Across the sale, racehorses cleared at 84 per cent, while every race filly and race mare put up for sale found a new home.
Meanwhile, Andrew Love will be out for an immediate return on his $2,500 investment for a five per cent share in the Tony Gollan trained Hell (Lot 27).
Hell is scheduled to run in the last of 10 races at Doomben on Saturday with talented apprentice Emily Pozman in the saddle.
