Better And Fatter Updates For National Sale

Fans of unbeaten Singapore sensation Better Than Ever will get the chance to buy one of his close relations at the upcoming Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale at the Gold Coast.

On Friday night at Kranji, Better than Ever extended his unbeaten run to nine with a demolition of his rivals in the Group One $500,000 Singapore Guineas (1600m).

The son of French Deputy will head for a short break before being aimed at the Group Two Chairman’s Trophy (1800m) in late July.

Veteran trainer Laurie Laxon has a huge opinion of Better Than Ever – who is now chasing the all time Singapore record for the number of unbeaten runs.

The win provided yet another boost to Kamiri (Lot 933) at the upcoming Gold Coast auction.

A twice raced daughter of King Ivor, Kamiri is a half sister to Group Three winner Swiss Echo as well as Songfest – the unraced dam of Better Than Ever and his stakes performed half brother Boys Will be Boys.

Kamiri is a maiden mare and looks to have a bright future ahead as a broodmare.

Albert the Fat (inside)Also set to go under the hammer at the National Broodmare Sale is a half sister to Saturday’s Group One BTC Cup winner Albert the Fat.

Shara Princess, a four-year-old daughter of Desert Prince, is catalogued as lot number 1503 and is a member of the quality draft being presented by Darling Downs based horsewoman Robyn Wise.

The lightly raced mare will go under the hammer after being served in early October by exciting young Queensland sire Court Command.

On Saturday her half brother Albert the Fat scored a breakthrough win for his trainer Eden Petrie when he scored a thrilling win over Melito and Latin News.

Also runs in the race on the weekend included fancied runners Mic Mac and Ortensia.

The 2010 Magic Millions National Sale commences on Wednesday, May 26 – with the first of three sessions that make up the National Weanling Sale.
