Bounding into a Burgeoning National Sale

Bounding into a Burgeoning National Sale

Stunning mare Bounding will attract massive international attention when the star sprinter goes under the hammer at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.
The latest star entry adds to what will be a sensational catalogue for the Southern Hemisphere’s number one breeding stock sale to be held from late May.
An unprecedented domestic and international buying bench will flock to the Gold Coast to compete for what is shaping as an outstanding catalogue across all sections of the auction.
The yearling markets across Australasia in 2016 have record strong results and it’s expected this trend will flow through to the breeding stock market. The lower Australian dollar is expected to provide strong competition on what will be a truly international catalogue.
Bounding is being offered as a racing and breeding proposition and will run in Saturday’s Group One Galaxy before contesting the Group One TJ Smith Stakes two week later.
A daughter of champion Lonhro and group winner Believe’n’succeed, Bounding will be presented at the Gold Coast sale by Willow Park Stud.
“It’s such a huge thrill to be consigning this beautiful Willow Park homebred on behalf of New Zealand owner Gary Harding who bought her from us as a yearling,” Willow Park’s Glenn Burrows said.
“Honestly, she was simply breathtaking from the day she was born and I’m positive anyone and everyone who inspects her will want her – bar none!”
Bounding’s race record, like her pedigree, is first class. She’s been crowned the Champion Sprinter of New Zealand, Champion 3YO Filly of New Zealand and is a Group One winner of eight races and seven times placed from just 17 starts. Her earnings currently sit on $640,766.
When Bounding won the Group One Railway Handicap (1200m) at Ellerslie she became the first filly in 33 years to win the time honoured feature.
Bounding’s dam Believe’n’succeed won a Group Three Blue Diamond Prelude before retiring to stud and is a full sister to Group Two winner Kuroshio and listed winner Agulhas.
Believe’n’succeed herself sold for $1.1 million when offered through the Gold Coast sales ring and she now resides at Coolmore Stud in Ireland and is in foal to world champion sire Galileo.
