Dual Chamber debuted for a new stable in style at Doomben today when she scored a valuable win in the listed Bright Shadow Handicap (1200m).
Now prepared at Toowoomba by master horseman Rex Lipp, Dual Chamber was sent out one of the better chances in her first race since finishing out of a place behind Graceful Anna in the Group Three Vo Rogue Plate.
A start earlier she beat Princess Qualo, Choistar and AJC Derby hero Shoot Out in the $100,000 Gold Edition Stakes.
Sent out at $5 this afternoon the Show a Heart filly cruised home to beat Acquired ($6) by three parts of a length in a race record time.
Typhoon Tracy’s Redoute’s Choice half sister Tracy’s Choice ($4.40 fav) was another short neck back in third place.
Lipp said he was confident Dual Chamber would run well in the Brisbane feature event after a couple of good trials at her home track.
“We trialled her twice and learnt a bit about how to ride her and it worked out well,” Lipp told AAP.
“I’ve only had her for this preparation but she impressed me right through and I think a race like the Queensland Guineas would be perfect for her.”
Winning rider Jason Holder told reporters after the race that he was also impressed with the performance from Dual Chamber.
“Rex wanted her to relax and finish it off and she really sprinted when I let her go,” Holder said.
“And the best thing is she will improve a lot with that run under her belt.”
A graduate of the 2008 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Dual Chamber has won her connections $209,000 in just 10 starts.
By the same sire as Heart of Dreams and Mimi Lebrock in Show a Heart, Dual Chamber is from the unraced Lion Hunter mare Strong of Heart.
Strong of Heart is from a Semipalatinsk blood sister to Hutt Star (dam of Lolita Star and Berezny), and three quarter sister to Give to Thee and Palmyra Bay (dam of Little Pattie).
