Magic Millions recently announced a flat 3.5% commission rate across all lots for the National Weanling and Broodmare Sales in a tremendous boost for vendors and breeders. There will again for no passed-in commission on those two sales.
The National Weanling Sale has established itself as the clear leader of its type in Australasia and this year’s sale has already been boosted by three quality packed dispersals.
The highlights include the Unreserved Dispersal for Andrew and Georgie Ferguson’s Bell River Thoroughbreds, a 16 lot draft including a Smart Missile half relation to Extreme Choice. Also featuring is the Unreserved Dispersal of Bell View Park Stud for Gary and Adam Mackrell featuring 13 quality youngsters. The Toole family of Kambula Stud will again present their Annual Dispersal featuring 19 lots.
At the 2015 National Weanling Sale 54 lots sold for $100,000 or more helping no fewer than 22 vendors achieve a 100 per cent clearance.
The 2015 National Broodmare Sale saw $11.47 million worth of fillies and mares sold to international interests, more than four times more than any comparable sale. The domestic spend of almost $52 million was over $35 million more!
Six lots sold last year in Australia for $1 million or more – all six at the National Sale – in fact over the past three years 18 fillies or mares have sold for seven figures in Australasian breeding stock sales, all of them on the Gold Coast!
The National Sale Series will conclude with the National Yearling and Racehorse Sales which are both well regarded by buyers, domestic and international. The National Yearling Sale looks on track to feature its finest ever line up in 2016.
