Graceful AnnaStradbroke Handicap plans for Graceful Anna remained on track when she scored a stylish win in the listed Silk Stocking Handicap (1200m) at the Gold Coast today.

A winner of the $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Trophy at the Gold Coast in January, Graceful Anna is regarded as one of the leading lightweight chances for Queensland’s feature handicap next month.

But before connections decide on a Stradbroke start, the star filly will run in Brisbane.

“We’ll run her in a fortnight,” winning trainer David Pfeiffer said. “There are three races she can run in at Doomben.”

“And we’ll see how she goes there – if she wins she can head to the Stradbroke (Handicap).”

Graceful AnnaPfieffer said the glamour filly had derived good benefit from her recent first up run in Brisbane.

“There’s still good improvement in her – she will come on again from this. She’s still a bit off her peak yet.”

Graceful Anna is a great advertisement for Australia’s top producing thoroughbred sales company Magic Millions.

She was sold by the company as a weanling (for $14,000), a yearling (for $25,000) and as a ready to run two-year-old (for $38,000).

Former trainer Oliver Koolman purchased Graceful Anna as a two-year-old and she joined the stables of Pfeiffer after Koolman decided to retire from training.

Happy connectionsGraceful Anna boasts an imposing record of six wins and two minor placings from just eight starts and stakes earnings of $915,300.

By Canny Lad – the same sire as Group One winners including He’s No Pie Eater, Calveen, Republic Lass, Accomplice and Dodge – Graceful Anna is the sole winner for his dam Lamellar.

A mare by Grand Lodge, who raced just twice, Lamellar is a half sister to the Adelaide stakes winner Catriona.

Further back hers is the same family as News Alert, Force Apollo, Prince Rubiton and Star Watch.
