Group One Plan For Panipique

Quality mare Panipique will be given her chance at Group One success following an impressive win in Saturday’s listed ATA / Bob Hoysted Handicap (1000m) at Flemington.

After missing the recent Oakleigh Plate with a minor ailment, the daughter of Testa Rossa bounced back with a strong win in the feature sprint run in driving rain.

And now her trainer Peter Moody is looking to Group One features, including one in Sydney to further enhance her impressive record.

“She got conditions to suit. She got a good, fast run five furlong race and that’s her go – 1000 or 1100.”

“She loves the cut out of the ground and she was primed to run well,” Moody said.

“We’ll aim her at a race like the Galaxy and she’d be unlucky if she didn’t get soft ground and a fast run 1100 (metres).”

A Turangga Farm graduate, Panipique has sent her earnings to over $300,000 and her black type wins and impressive pedigree has her positioned as a valuable broodmare prospect.

A graduate of the 2009 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, where she could have been yours for $250,000, Panipique would be worth a small fortune if she wins a Group One race this campaign.

A daughter of former outstanding Magic Millions graduate Testa Rossa, Panipique is now a three time stakes winner.

She is one of two winners, from two to race, for the Adelaide and Melbourne stakes winner Our Quivira.

A winner of the Group Three Dermody Stakes and listed Kensington Stakes, Our Quivira is a full sister to Kishkat and half sister to stakes performers Eskaw and Potions.

Hers is also the family of Group One winners including Deck the Halls and Above Deck.
