Hidden Dragon’s hot winning run extended to Singapore today when exciting youngster Moonlite Shower cruised home in the WFA race for two and three-year-olds at Kranji.

Able to hold the lead on the inside after a clean getaway, Moonlite Shower controlled the speed under Chavez and kicked clear late in the race for a most impressive win.

At the line the exciting gelding held a two length margin on his rivals in a performance that impressed his trainer Don Baertschiger.

“I was in Sydney at the races and happened to back this horse’s half sister (Don’t Tell Clang) who won a Group Three race at Randwick,” Baertschiger said.

“That stuck in my mind and when this horse was up for sale I liked what I saw,” he added.

“He’s gone about his business nicely since he’s been here and his trials had been good leading up to this race.” 

“He’s only a little fella, but he’s done a good job,” Baertschiger added.

“The thing with this bloke is that he can gallop. We’ll just wait and see what happens with him.”

Moonlite Shower, originally sold for $18,000 at last year’s Magic Millions QTIS 600 Yearling Sale, is a graduate of October’s National Horses in Training Sale.

On that occasion he was purchased by Baertschiger for $110,000 from the draft of Centaur Park Thoroughbreds.

A full brother to Moonlite Shower is being prepared by the team from Lyndhurst Stud on behalf of his breeders for March’s 2011 Magic Millions QTIS 600 Yearling Sale.

The sale bound colt, like Moonlite Shower and the Adrian Knox Stakes winner Don’t Tell Clang, is from the 11 time winning and stakes performed Black Zephyr mare Donnatelle.

Hidden Dragon was recently represented by his first stakes winner when Hollowlea staked his claims for the Bill Stutt Stakes with a listed win at Flemington.

The 2010 Magic Millions National Horses in Training, boasting a catalogue of 400 lots, will be held at the Gold Coast on October 27 and 28.
