Launceston Hosts Tasmanian Sale Tomorrow

The 2013 Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale will be held in Launceston tomorrow.


The Inveresk Showgrounds has been busy with inspections and will tomorrow host the auction from 1pm (EDST).

A catalogue of 136 yearlings has brought together the cream of the Tasmanian yearling crop as buyers look for the next Lady Lynette, Triple Asset or Lake Sententia.

Those unable to make it to Launceston for the sale but would like to track the action can with a live stream via the homepage of the Magic Millions website.

Locally based sires Incumbent, Savoire Vivre and West Quest are the most represented sires in a catalogue which includes stock by renowned mainland sires including Snitzel, Real Saga, Tale of the Cat and Rock of Gibraltar.

A highlight of the day will be when Lot 133, an All American colt, will go under the hammer with half of all proceeds from this sale being donated to the Salvation Army Tasmanian Bushfire Appeal.

That colt, from the quality Aceland Stud draft, will be sold following lot 64 (with lot 65 being withdrawn) – at around 3pm.

The buyer of Lot 133 will get a bonus Magic Millions Race Series nomination with the colt valued at $3,300 – and a ticket to run in Magic Millions races Australia wide for his entire racing career.

The Magic Millions race night – featuring the $50,000 Shaw Contracting Magic Millions 2YO Classic and $50,000 Tasbreeders Magic Millions 3YO Classic will be held this evening at Mowbray Racecourse.

The first race will jump at 6pm.
