Magic Millions The Number One Stakes Source

Magic Millions graduates have completed a memorable racing season helping the thoroughbred sales leader reaffirm its place as Australia’s premier source of racetrack stars.

With some 177 successes at black type level, Magic Millions graduates led the way at racing’s highest level during the Australian racing season which concluded on July 31.

The headline performers for the Gold Coast based sales company achieved a total of 21 Group One wins in Australia during the season – from $11,000 Adelaide Sale buy Happy Trails to $320,000 Gold Coast queen Atlantic Jewel.

“To round out last season with Magic Millions Sales graduates attaining such prolific black type success around Australia is an incredible result for the company and our clients,” Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said.

“It’s been a great 12 months on the track and with our careful bloodstock selection process we’re confident this trend will continue into the future,” Cox added.

Stakes winners sold by Magic Millions during the season ranged in price from $750 for the Belmont Classic winner Proceedwithcaution through to $1.35 million for Group Two winning juvenile Valentia, the 2013 Gold Coast Yearling Sale top seller.

In terms of stakes races won, Boban and Catkins with five victories were the most successful sale graduates in the country. That pair are both trained by Chris Waller and were sold at the Gold Coast for $100,000 and $85,000 respectively and have amassed over $2.7 million in combined prizemoney earnings thus far.

Only one horse won more black type events (6) during the 2013-14 racing season and that was the world’s top rated sprinter, the Teeley Assets homebred Lankan Rupee – a star who made his impact with close relations selling for big money at the recent Magic Millions National Sale.

Star Perth mare Magnifisio won four black type events during the season while nine other stars won three – that group included Group One stars Atlantic Jewel, Buffering, Spirit of Boom and Zoustar.

Graduates of Magic Millions have started the new racing season in style with January’s Gold Coast 3YO Guineas winner Sweet Idea winning the biggest race to date in Saturday’s Missile Stakes at Group Two level.
