Toorak Toff rubber stamped the form of the recent Magic Millions Adelaide 2YO Classic when he steamed home to win the $100,000 Group Three National Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville on Saturday.

Trained by his part owner Rick Hore-Lacy, Toorak Toff was sent out the second favourite for the time honoured feature and in similar fashion to his last start Classic win he scored impressively.

When Toorak Toff ($4) hit the line he held a widening head margin over the odds-on favourite Stirling Grove ($1.85).

Another two and three quarter lengths back in third place was Bedhrah ($10).

Trainer Rick Hore-Lacy has always held a massive opinion of Toorak Toff and suggested the colt will continue to improve as his distances increase.

“I do think he’s a very good horse,” Hore Lacy said. “And I think he will make into a lovely miler later on.”

“I think he’s got a really good future.”

Hore-Lacy said Toorak Toff, who was ridden to victory today by Damien Oliver, would most likely head to Sydney for the Group One double of the AJC Sires’ Produce and Champagne Stakes.

And October’s Group One Caulfield Guineas at his home track back in Melbourne has always been a long term aim for the promising youngster.

Toorak Toff was purchased by part owner Bill Van Rooy for $135,000 from the draft of Glenlogan Park Stud at last year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

As it stands the promising colt has three wins from four starts and his earnings have already reached $225,425.

There are 17 yearlings by Toorak Toff’s sire Show a Heart catalogued for the 2010 Magic Millions QTIS 600 Yearling Sale which kicks away at 11am tomorrow.
