More Stakes Winners Join National Broodmare Supplementary

The 2026 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale continues to build with the first group of supplementary lots revealed.
Five new stakes winning stars – two straight off the track and three with top commercial covers – have joined a catalogue that already included 111 black type performers.

Two-Year-Old stakes winner Bellazaine, a winner of last year’s Listed Lonhro Plate at Randwick, is one of two exciting breeding prospects who will be offered straight off the track.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott prepared daughter of Zousain defeated Golden Rose and last start All Aged Stakes winner Beiwacht when she won the Lonhro Plate.

“Bellazaine has always been a very physically mature filly with an outstanding constitution,” co-trainer Adrian Bott said.

“She showed precocity early in her training, which carried her through to perform strongly against the best of her generation in the lead-up races to the Golden Slipper.”

“Her win in the Lonhro Plate was particularly impressive — she had the toughness to sit on speed and fight all the way to the line to hold off Beiwacht, and we all know the quality of that horse.”

“From the moment she arrived in the stable, she’s shown high-class ability and has been a pleasure to train.”

“She has all the attributes you’d want to see in a filly heading to the breeding barn — strength, soundness and natural athleticism — and I’ve no doubt she’ll pass those traits on to her progeny,” Bott added.

Another juvenile stakes winner joining the catalogue is the Group Three winner Russian Alliance

A five time winner at two, the daughter of Russian Revolution defeated Abounding and co in the Ken Russell Memorial Classic at the Gold Coast for the Kevin Kemp stable.

A half sister to New Zealand Oaks placegetter Single Red, Russian Alliance joins the Kenmore Lodge draft as Lot 539. Her dam Sea Dweller is already catalogued in the Kulani Park draft following a spring date with Shinzo.

Meanwhile, three high quality stakes winners, who will be presented in the broodmare section of the sale are sure to be sought after.

Group Two winner Quantum Mechanic, a Deep Field mare who hails from a classy Group One family in both hemispheres, will be presented by Vinery Stud, as agent for Mill Park Stud.

A winner of the Sunline Stakes and a Group One placegetter, Quantum Mechanic defeated the likes of Group One winners Colette, Fangirl, Odeum, Nimalee, Icebath, Krone, Sierra Sue, Zoutori and Lunar Fox,  during her career.

“We bought her as a yearling and loved her as a type especially with the deep international pedigree,” Mill Park Stud’s Chris Watson said.

“She was a hard tough competitor, loved a mile, a genuine race mare who consistently showed ability throughout her career.”

“A Group Two winner and only finished two lengths or less behind the winners in two Group One races.”

“We had great fun racing her into her five-year-old season before retiring to stud.”

“She’s just a lovely balanced type, plenty of strength, bone and a huge big deep girth. A beautiful mare that will be very easy to breed on type and pedigree.”

Quantum Mechanic will produce her second foal this spring, with a September cover by first season sensation Ole Kirk.

“It was very pleasing to see great judges secure her first yearling in Shane McGrath and Clinton McDonald buying the Frankel filly,” Watson added.

Lot 811 in the supplementary will be the Listed winner Merriest, a high class and well related daughter of Denman who is already a group producer.

The Atlantic Jewel Stakes winner and Group Two and Three placegetter has already produced the Group Two WA Guineas runner-up The Merryman.

Merriest, who will be offered by Widden Stud, heads to the sale after being served by Super Seth in October.

International stakes winner Hot Little Thing (Lot 814) is another supplementary entry adding quality to the Vinery Stud draft.

Twice a stakes winner in the United States, the daughter of Army Mule has produced foals by Blame and Shinzo and is due to produce a Home Affairs foal in September.
