Quality National Supplementary Closes Tomorrow

Quality supplementary lots for the upcoming Magic Millions National Sale continue to roll in with final entries for the famous auction closing tomorrow.

While all catalogues have been finalised, those wanting to have lots in the sale need to lodge it now to join the supplementary.

Last year Princess Coup topped the sale when she sold for an all time Magic Millions record price of $3 million as part of the supplementary catalogue.

“This is the last chance to join the catalogue for the National Weanling, Broodmare, Yearling and Racehorse Sale,” Magic Millions Managing Director David Chester said.

“Anyone wanting to lodge an entry must contact our bloodstock department by the close of business tomorrow (Wednesday),” he added.

Entries received in recent days include stakes winner Ultimate Fever (in foal to Snitzel), stakes placegetter Lezayre (in foal to Fastnet Rock), the stakes winning three-year-old filly Baby Corn and the six time winner and stakes victor My First Affair.

Yet another mare in foal to red hot international sire High Chaparral has joined the catalogue as well as others in foal to Stratum, Churchill Downs, Not a Single Doubt, Domesday and Strada.

SHOVHOG ON SONG ON EVE OF NATIONAL

The winning run for grand Queensland sire Shovhog continued with Beethog winning the Group Three Gold Coast Guineas on Saturday.

And he went close to achieving a stakes race double on the same card when Adebisi beat all but Spirit of Boom in the Ken Russell Memorial Classic.

Beethog became Shovhog’s 11th stakes galloper when she flew home under comeback jockey Justin Stanley to score an impressive upset win.

The Les Kelly prepared filly, a graduate of the 2008 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale, boasts an impressive record of three wins and two second placings from just seven starts and earnings of $113,250.

BeethogBeethog is one of six winners from the 100% winner to runner producer Gypsy Ahlee – an unraced daughter of Alquoz.

She is the dam of another stakes performer in Gypsy Mai – a five time winner and stakes placed in an Angst Handicap. She in turn is the dam of impressive winners including Romany Star (Monster in Macau) and Gypsy Ruler.

Shovhog, a resident of Raheen Stud, is well represented in the upcoming Magic Millions National Sale at the Gold Coast.

He has two fillies and a colt set to go under the hammer during the first component of the sale – the National Weanling Sale.
