Racing stock dominated results in today’s Magic Millions Digital (11-16 Sep) Sale, with multiple lots achieving strong results.
The top-priced lot for the sale was Eurocanto (Lot 16), selling to the Collide Syndicate for $50,000. Having won last season’s Listed Maribyrnong Trial, the three-year-old will remain with Lindsay Park for the new group of owners.
Arrowfield also enjoyed strong results for their pair of entries. Galano (Lot 1) was knocked down to Jesse Beak for $20,000, while last start runner-up Heathcliff (Lot 3) sold to veteran trainer John Manzelmann for $30,000.
Hi Val (Lot 20) proved extremely popular, with 47 bids against her name with Australian Bloodstock/Nathan Doyle Racing eventually securing the mare, purchasing her for $45,000.
“It was an amazing result,” part-owner Robert Roulston said. “We thought she could make around $20,000, so to end up selling her for $45,000 was fantastic.”
Elsewhere in the race fillies and mares category, New Zealand stud farms came to the fore with Riversley Park purchasing Written Scandal (Lot 30) for $32,500, while Cambridge Stud secured the six-time winning mare Bine (Lot 32) for $42,500 after 49 bids.
“We bought her to eventually go to Hello Youmzain. It’s a family we know well with Kahma Lass and Drops of Gold on the page so she made a lot of sense for us,” said Cameron Ring, Bloodstock Manager for Cambridge Stud.
“We found the platform very user-friendly and we will definitely be getting involved again in future sales.”
Elsewhere in the sale, in the broodmare category, Tri For Us (Lot 51), who was offered with a Sessions Colt foal at foot, sold for $22,500 to Marina Investments.
“It was a very satisfying sale. We had a strong domestic buying bench as well as multiple buyers from New Zealand and Asia who also got involved,” Bryce Bevan, Head of Digital said.
“What is very pleasing is that this week we had a high number of new online bidding registrations. The platform is gaining momentum with every sale.”
