God Has Spoken booked his place into the field for next Saturday’s Group One Railway Stakes when he scored a strong win in the Group Three RJ Peters Stakes (1500m) at Ascot today.

The outstanding four-year-old earned his crack at racing’s elite level when he held out his rivals after hitting the front in the straight.

Trainer Neville Parnham was delighted with the performance and said he was confident the locally prepared star would be one of the horses to beat next week.

“I was confident he would win,” Parnham noted. “But you never know where they’re going to be in the run.”

“They can get blocked for runs like he has last start. Steve got him into a good spot and took off at the right time and got him wound up – he’s got a pretty powerful finish on him.”

“It’s onward and upwards with him now. He’s now exempt from the ballot in the Railway. He’ll be fronting up there and I think he will be right in the mix.”

Parnham said many of Perth’s other feature summer carnival races would be on the agenda for the outstanding son of Blackfriars.

“His target this time has been the Railway – but the Kingston Town, which he ran second in last year, and the Cox and maybe the Cup – but I don’t think that is his pet journey.”

“He’s assured of a run next week (in the Railway) and we can be easy with him this week and I know I’ll have a fit horse,” he added.

A $41,000 purchase by Parnham on behalf of Colin Loxton’s Cockatoo Ridge Syndicate at the 2008 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale, God Has Spoken is a great advertisement for the WA thoroughbred industry.

The Durham Lodge graduate has earned a staggering $608,950 from his six wins and five runner-up placings from just 23 lifetime runs.

Aside from the RJ Peters Stakes, God Has Spoken has won a Group Three Sires’ Produce Stakes and listed Aquanita Stakes.

He was also second in last year’s Group One Kingston Town Classic and at three he was also fourth in the Group One WA Derby.

God Has Spoken is by Danehill’s Victoria Derby winning son Blackfriars – a sire who is well represented with 22 lots catalogued for February’s 2011 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale.

The win the third on the card for Parnham – all of them Magic Millions graduates.

He won the first race with five-year-old gelding Timberlands before backing up to win the third with former Melbourne galloper Dempsey.

God Has Spoken is one of eight winners produced by the Rubiton mare – a stakes performed and five time winning daughter of Rubiton.

As well as God Has Spoken she is the dam of Playing God – a quality three-year-old also in Parnham stable.
