Love Conquers AllOutstanding Mossman colt Love Conquers All made it back to back wins this preparation when he downed his older rivals in Saturday’s listed $100,000 June Stakes (1100m) at Randwick.

The highest priced galloper ever sold at auction by Mossman, Love Conquers All was sent out the hot favourite following his runaway five and a half length first up victory a fortnight ago.

This time around the margin wasn’t as great, as he finished too well for former boom West Australian sprinter Hay List, but the performance was again outstanding.

Co-trainer Michael Hawkes was suitably impressed with the performance of the colt to win the feature Sydney sprint.

Love Conquers All“He took a class rise today and drawing that awkward gate was also a concern,” Hawkes commented.

“He is all class and all guts this horse and he deserves to win.”

“His set back this time was probably a blessing in disguise that we did not go to Queensland at this stage.”

“He can only win and keep improving and that is all he has to do,” Hawkes added.

For surgery bound jockey Jim Cassidy the performance was first class. The proven big race rider is expecting bigger and better things from the top three-year-old.

“He is a lovely horse. The Hawkes team have done a great job with him and he is certainly a horse going somewhere,” Cassidy said.

Love Conquers All“He was travelling real good coming to the corner. The plan was to wait until we straightened and get balanced at the top of the rise, but I could not afford to let him get too far in front of me. He really knuckled down in the last 100 metres.

Love Conquers All, a $400,000 purchase for co-trainer John Hawkes on behalf of well known owner and businessman Nick Moraitis, is a beautifully bred colt.

By Success Express’ Group One winning son Mossman, Love Conquers All is one of three winners (two at stakes level) for the former outstanding race mare She’s a Meanie.

A daughter of Prince Salieri, She’s a Meanie won seven racews during her career at distances from 1200 to 2200 metres.

She scored a career highlight victory in the Group One Avondale Gold Cup as well as being successful in the Group Three Thames Valley Stakes.
