| The thirst for quality stakes winners off the track continued at the Magic Millions Digital (29 May-4 June) Sale which concluded with record results with the sale the best in the history of the selling platform. |
| Group One winner Vibrant Sun and Perth stakes winner Toropa led the way when selling for $465,000 and $360,000 respectively, while unreserved drafts from the Geisel Park Stud Dispersal and Hesket Thoroughbreds Reduction also proved popular. Intense bidding from domestic and international buyers led the sale to return impressive and indeed record results with a gross of over $1.65 million, clearance of 74 per cent and average price of $21,742. The Autumn Sun’s elite level racetrack performer Vibrant Sun attracted 104 bids and sold for $465,000 to Garryard Equine. During her short racetrack career Vibrant Sun won three races headlined by the Group One Australasian Oaks at Morphettville and the Group Three Alexandra Stakes at Moonee Valley. She is one of two winners, from two to race, for the Group winning Written Tycoon mare Vibrant Rouge. “The team at Magic Millions made selling our mare Vibrant Sun really easy,” vendor Sheamus Mills said. “I felt they left no stone unturned in canvassing the market and that’s the highest compliment you can give when you entrust anyone to sell on your behalf,” Mills added. Perth stakes winning mare Toropa, a beautifully related daughter of Toronado, was the second top seller of the sale when realising $360,000. The Listed Jungle Dawn Classic winner of seven races and over $360,000 in prizemoney was purchased by China Horse Club. The Amelia Park Racing and Breeding offering attracted 49 bids in a result that delighted the vendor. “We are sad to see her go but we are ecstatic by the amount of competition on her,” Amelia Park Racing and Breeding Manager Sharon King said. “From the day the sale went live I was inundated with calls and I know the Magic Millions team were too as they came and inspected her for several prospective buyers,” King added. Michael Smith, Australasian Manager for the China Horse Club, confirmed that the mare would be heading to the Newgate Farm based champion Extreme Choice this spring. “I went and saw Toropa at Amelia Park and was quite taken by her,” Smith noted. “She’s a gun physical with a lovely pedigree and could really gallop.” “We’re delighted to get her and she will join China Horse Club’s Broodmare band at The Chase and visit Extreme Choice this season.” “As always the team at Magic Millions has been extremely helpful and made the online process seamless,” Smith added. The Geisel Park Stud Unreserved Dispersal attracted strong interest with bidders and was highlighted by the stakes performed mare Duchess of Gossip who sold for $145,000. Another lot to shine for Geisel Park Stud was the Helmet mare Rosebank who sold to Brae Sokolski for $80,000. “Many thanks to the Magic Millions Digital team for all their efforts in promoting the sale, and to the many people who got in touch and visited the farm to inspect the horses,” Conor Dunlop, Stud Manager at Geisel Park Stud, said. “As we all know, sales like these have a habit of producing top horses, so to everyone who purchased from us, we wish you the very best and sincerely hope you enjoy plenty of success with your new acquisitions,” Dunlop added. Following the recent National Broodmare Sale, the Hesket Thoroughbreds Unreserved Reduction Sale continued today with strong bidding on their lots. The Hesket sales included a breeding right in Bivouac that sold for $65,000 to Momentum Horse Farm and the Lonhro mare Light Romance (in foal to So You Think) who sold for $60,000 to North Star Park Thoroughbreds. “We would like to sincerely thank Bryce and Magic Millions Digital for facilitating a successful week of trading in our Hesket Thoroughbreds Reduction Sale,” David Moodie said. “We are grateful for the strong support shown by buyers and the professionalism of the Magic Millions team throughout the process.
