Youngster Excites As Noisy Breaks Through

Exciting Vinery Stud freshman sire Excites made it two first crop winners from three runners when the promising Doomben trained colt Black Jag won at the Gold Coast today.

A member of the Peter Hulbert stable, Black Jag sat off the speed but came with a strong in the straight when asked by talented local rider Justin Stanley.

At the post Black Jeg held a widening half neck margin over Outback Fortune, while Square Up was a further length and three quarters back in third place.

“He was always travelling like the winner,” Stanley told connections after the race.

A $110,000 graduate from last October’s Magic Millions National Horses in Training Sale at the Gold Coast, Black Jag is a handsome dark colt who looks to have a nice future.

Excites, a graduate of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, was a Group One winner over 1400 metres as a juvenile and he’s made a bright start to his career as a sire.

His first runner Amber’s Crown won on debut at the Gold Coast for Steven O’Dea – while his only other runner Stirring Emotion, another filly, has placed at two of her three runs to date.

Meanwhile, Noisy Ocean gave connections something to cheer about when he broke his maiden status in style at Eagle Farm today.

The youngster narrowly missed a run in last Saturday’s $2 million BMW Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1000m) but was able to make up for it today with an impressive win.

Sent out a long odds on favourite the son of Shovhog was sluggish out of the barriers and then had to take a tight run to shoot up on the inside of runners and score.

In an all Magic Millions finish, Noisy Ocean (Larry Cassidy) edged out Biggles (Joe Bowditch) while the winner’s stablemate Red Royal (Chris Munce) was third.

Guy purchased Noisy Ocean from the draft of Raheen Stud for $10,000 at last year’s Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

He’s already won many times with purchase price and looks to be a great prospect for the future.
