A full brother to Australia’s globe trotting star sprinter Ortensia will turn heads at the upcoming Magic Millions National Horses in Training Sale at the Gold Coast.
In the early hours of Saturday morning (Australian time), Ortensia notched her third international group win when she stormed home to win the Group One Nunthorpe Stakes at York.
The Paul Messara trained daughter of Testa Rossa won the Group One Winterbottom Stakes in Perth in November last year at her most recent run in her homeland.
She then headed to Dubai where she steamed home to win the Group One Al Quoz Stakes at Meydan.
After a ninth in the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot and a fourth in the July Cup at Newmarket, she bounced back with a splendid win in the Group Two King George Stakes at Goodwood.
The star mare has registered 13 wins from 34 starts and earned over $2.4 million.
Her two-year-old full brother by Testa Rossa is one of the star lots catalogued for the 2012 Magic Millions National Horses in Training Sale.
A member of a quality packed Baramul Stud draft, the colt is catalogued as Lot 8 and will go under the hammer on October 31.
He is the fifth foal of the well bred but unraced Picncker mare Aerate’s Pick – a suster to Intelligent Star and half sister to Blaze the Turf (dam of Soleil).
Aerate’s Pick’s two runners to date are both metropolitan race winners and his two-year-old colt is a stunning individual who is sure to attract the attention of good judges on the Gold Coast.
