Jim Byrne, Shaun Meeres and Clare Lindop lead the three Magic Millions Jockey Premierships as the season hots up.
Byrne is five wins clear to be crowned the inaugural Magic Millions Leading Jockey – ranked by all Australian wins aboard Magic Millions sale graduates.
The top Brisbane hoop has ridden 62 Magic Millions graduates to success this season to be clear of Stathi Katsidis (57) and Shaun O’Donnell (52).
Next on the list are Larry Cassidy (35) and Alan Kennedy and Jason Whiting (both 34).
Western Australia’s Shaun Meeres leads the premiership for most wins outside of the metro area.
His haul of 31 has him just one win ahead of Daniel Griffin. Next best are Grant Buckley and Brendon McCoull (both 27) and Jim Byrne (26).
Meanwhile, the race to be crowned the Leading Female Rider of the season for Magic Millions wins looks a battle between the South Aussies Clare Lindop and Libby Hopwood.
Lindop (21) leads Hopwood (20) by one win – they are clear of Victoria’s Linda Meech (14) and Queensland’s Alisha Taylor (13).
The premierships will continue through the remainder of the racing season which concludes at the end of July.
The winners of the three divisions will win $2,000 cash as well as exclusive prize and accommodation package – the biggest and best premiership prizes in the country.
