Outstanding Entries For Magic Millions Raceday

The popularity of the $4.3 million Magic Millions Raceday has continued with outstanding entries being received for seven of the day’s races today.

Meanwhile, four late entries were received for the two million dollar features which were the subject of early deadlines last month.

The $2 million BMW Magic Millions 2YO Classic has been boosted by three late entries – Charge a Fortune (Rex Lipp), Delagos (Anthony Cummings) and General Jackson (Mick Mair).

David Payne’s impressive filly Happy Hussy has joined the race for the $1 million Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas after Payne entered the last start Sydney winner this morning.

The other seven races attracted strong support at their initial closing time today with the meeting now boasting over 560 nomination.

The $400,000 R.M.Williams Magic Millions Cup (1400m) has 32 entries including proven stakes winners Adnocon, Atomic Force, Catapulted, Here de Angels, Latin News, Mr Unforgettable, My Destiny, Spirit of Boom and Torio’s Quest.

Another feature will be the $200,000 Myer Magic Millions Sprint (1000m) which attracted 30 entries including Atomic Force, Catapulted, Here de Angels, Joint Chiefs, Midnight at Ascot, Schiffer and previous winner Warrior Girl.

The $200,000 Korean Air Magic Millions Stayers Cup (1800m) was the subject of 37 entries including stakes winners Diamondsondinside, Femina Fashion, Kontiki Park and Pepperwood.

And the $200,000 Magic Millions Fillies & Mares Handicap (1300m) attracted 32 entries including Angel of Mercy, Cat’s Pyjamas, Demanding Miss, Gai’s Choice, Mafia Miss, Miss Barwang and Pear Tart.

Yesterday’s Goldmarket placegetter Geared Up is among 49 entries for the Sky Racing Magic Millions Class 6 Plate, Others include Griffon, Leealan, Show a Prince, State of Wealth and Thefifthhole.

The $100,000 BMW M5 Magic Millions Maiden Plate (1200m) is one of the day’s mostly hotly contested races and 62 entries were received – many of the country’s leading stables represented.

Rounding out the day is the $100,000 Marriott Magic Millions Country Cup (1400m) – a race restricted to non-metropolitan winners – it was the subject of 48 entries today.

Final acceptances for the $2 million BMW Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) and the $1 million Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m) close at 9am (Qld time) on Monday (January 9) – the same time as late entries for the other seven events.

Final acceptances for the remaining seven races on the day will close at 9am (Qld time) on Wednesday, January 11.
