Record Breaking National Sale Concludes

The 2014 Magic Millions National Sale came to close on the Gold Coast today with a general session of yearlings as well as racehorses.

Today’s sales with almost $1 million traded rounded out a highly successful sale with records broken across many areas.

The yearling section of the catalogue was topped by a Dane Shadow filly who sold to Magic Millions as agent for $40,000. The filly will join the stables of a leading Brisbane trainer for her racetrack career.

Presented at the auction by Stanley River Thoroughbreds, the brown filly is the first foal of the twice winning and Melbourne placed Traditionally mare A Little Smugg.

Later in the afternoon the racehorses took centre stage and competition was strong on a number of lots.

The top price in this part of the sale was $35,000 paid for three individual lots with Melbourne based Malua Bloodstock purchasing two.

Malua signed for the quality galloper Generis Heart from the Dovedeen Pty Ltd draft, while also purchasing the Darley galloper Carillo.

The other $35,000 sale was for the unnamed Zizou two-year-old full brother to quality Singapore galloper Rappor to Cliff Bashford.

Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said he was delighted with the results achieved over the past fortnight.

“It’s been a very big National Sale, from start to end,” said. “We had 2100 horses in and out of the complex and we have to congratulate all the staff of the vendors and the shipping companies  in getting the horses in and out of the complex with little fuss.

“To all the Magic Millions staff it has been a big two weeks. There has been a lot of work go into this sale which has culminated in two weeks of record breaking selling.”

“I thank everyone that participated at the sale at any level. We hope you enjoyed your time on the Gold Coast, we thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming sales.”
