Last Start Sydney Winner Tops Magic Millions Digital Sale

Last start Sydney winner Straand Beauty topped the Magic Millions Digital (27 February-4 March) Sale which, aside from one lot, concluded today.
The son of Exceed and Excel who was a winner at Warwick Farm on February 18 was purchased by Liam Ruddy Bloodstock for $75,000 from the draft of Baramul Stud.

“James Hetherington put the horse up to me earlier this week” Ruddy said.

“It was my first time using the platform and I found it extremely easy to use. I just logged in on my phone today and started bidding away.”

“A good group of owners have jumped into him already and he’ll race in Greg Stewart’s colours.”

“We’re going to target a couple of country features in the coming weeks then we’ll head back to the Sydney,” Ruddy added.

Along with Straand Beauty, several other racehorses, yearlings, broodmares and shares in some talented, lightly raced gallopers sold well.

Six of the seven shares offered were sold, including 5% shares in Satirically and Zoufield that sold for $22,500 each.

“I consider this sale one of our best to date as we saw a large number of new names log on and bid,” said Head of Digital Bryce Bevan.

“As well as canvassing for entries when putting a catalogue together, the team works extremely hard to identify suitable buyers for each specific lot once a sale is live, with an example of that work paying off today being Straand Beauty.”

The final lot in the auction, Ginger Flyer (Lot 66) is on the market and will sell with bidding open until Friday at 2.30pm (AEST).

Entries for the Magic Millions Digital (13-18 March) Sale are open and will close next Wednesday, 11 March. For more information on Magic Millions Digital or to lodge an entry click here.
