Aussie Mare A Hit In Iran

The international success for graduates of Australia’s premier breeze up style auction has continued with scores of winners around the globe.

The latest wins come at the same time as Iran heralded its latest Horse of the Year – a graduate of the 2009 Magic Millions National Horses in Training Sale.

The suitably named mare Magic Million, has been one of the champions of the Iranian racing circuit over the past couple of years and the now eight time winner is regarded as one of the region’s best.

The Gonbad sensation is by Black Caviar’s sire Bel Esprit and was purchased by Tehan based businessman Reza Allahdadi for $30,000 from the draft of Eliza Park at the Gold Coast.

Magic Million boasts the outstanding record of eight wins, five seconds and a third from just 15 starts.

She is one of two winners produced by the More Than Ready mare Jill Mary – a daughter of the five time winning and stakes performed Night Shift mare Say Good Morning.

Say Good Morning in turn is a half sister to the Doomben Bracelet winner and Adrian Knox Stakes and Frank Packer Plate placegetter Life is Beautiful.

Allahdadi, who purchased Magic Million in 2009, is planning on returning to the Gold Coast for the 2012 sale which will be held from October 31 to November 1.

“Mr Allahdadi will be accompanied at the Gold Coast by Dr Bordbar, the Keeper of the Iranian Stud Book, a leading vet surgeon and Iran’s most proactive bloodstock agent,” Magic Millions’ Sales Director David Chester reported.

“With the success they’ve had with previous buys at the National Horses in Training Sale it is great to see good interest from Iran again in 2012.”

At the 2009 sale as well as the Bel Esprit-Jill Mary filly, Allahdadi also purchased a God’s Own filly from the Eliza Park draft and it is also a multiple winner in Iran.

In the past few weeks the sale has produced winners in Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Macau, Malaysia and the Philippines as well as countless victors around Australia.
