Dubleanny Earns Break After Another Win

Dubleanny sent her earnings soaring over half a million dollars when she scored a thrilling win in the listed Straight Six (1200m) at Flemington this afternoon.

A National Weanling Sale graduate, Dubleanny sat on the speed throughout and showed her usual fighting capabilities and her will to win when challenged over the concluding stages.

Like her last start stakes win in Adelaide, the margin wasn’t big – but the performance was highly impressive.

“I thought that was a pretty good effort,” trainer Mick Price said. “I think it was run number six this prep and she’s had two trips to Adelaide and I don’t think she’s the best traveller.”

“Last Saturday morning I didn’t gallop her – I just gave her some even time and she had a galloper on Tuesday and had a good blow, so I was crossing fingers that she had enough fuel in the tank.”

“She’s pretty good and she loves the straight – I think thats about four out of five now.”

“She’ll probably go out now. I don’t think there is much around for her. This was a nice listed race and she was well weighted.”

“We might have a look at the early spring races. I had one go in a Group One and she ran fifth to Response – but I don’t think she travels that good and that’s why we didn’t take her to Brisbane.”

“She will get 1400 (metres) with the right run in the race. A Group One Handicap for her – you’d like to think so anyhow,” Price summed up.

A daughter of Dubleo, Dubleanny boasts the outstanding record of nine wins and three runner up placings from just 16 lifetime starts.

She’s earned her connections, the Vinery Syndicate and the Newstead Syndicate, an ever increasing haul of over $537,000.

Dubleanny was sold twice by Magic Millions prior to joining the Mick Price stable.

She made $34,000 when originally sold by Torryburn Stud at the 2007 National Weanling Sale before being purchased by the Vinery team for $65,000 when offered by Murrulla Stud at the 2008 Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

The classy mare is one of four winners, from four to race, for the unraced Canny Lad mare Uncanny Lady.

Uncanny Lady is a half sister to former smart Brisbane mare Broc ‘n’ Roll the dam of multiple stakes winner Zero Rock and her stakes performed three quarter sibling Rock Idol.

The family also includes the stakes winners including Oaks winners November Rain and Stormy Hill and international Group One winners Race Master and San Luis.

Dubleo has two weanlings catalogued for this month’s National Weanling Sale – a colt and filly – the filly is a half sister to recent stakes performer juvenile Queenian and Hong Kong group winner Slow Waltz.

He also has a colt headed to the National Yearling Sale and 12 mares covered by the sire last spring are catalogued for the National Broodmare Sale.
