Levi Does It For Nina


Levi’s Choice continued the winning run for the Queensland arm of the Patinack Farm operation when he cruised home in the Ambassador Travel 2YO Plate (1400m) at Eagle Farm today.

The last foal produced by the former outstanding racemare Nina Haraka, Levi’s Choice sat off the speed but came with a brilliant sprint in the straight to win easily.

A $160,000 purchase from 2008 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale, Levi’s Choice was one of the quality lots offered as part of the Swettenham Stud (UK) Dispersal Sale.

The promising youngster by Galileo was the last foal for Nina Haraka prior to her tragic death on New Year’s Day in 2008.

Nina Haraka was a graduate of the Adelaide Yearling Sale in 1997 – purchased by the late Peter Hayes for just $25,000.

During her career Nina Haraka won five races and earned over $400,000. She won a Group Three Adelaide Guineas as well as the listed double in the Port Adelaide Guineas and Nitschke Stakes.

Levi's ChoiceOne of the country’s most consistent gallopers of her time, Nina Haraka was second in a Vic Health Cup and Toorak Handicap and third in an Emirates Stakes and Australia Stakes – all at Group One level.

From four runners Nina Haraka has produced three winners – headlined by the Walter Brown Stakes and Magic Millions Tasmanian 2YO Classic winner Extension of Time.

Hailing from the family of former outstanding juvenile Mirror Mirror, Nina Haraka is a half sister to Tennessee Royal – the city winning dam of the Patinack Farm owned stakes winner Pergram.

The Swettenham Stud Dispersal Sale of weanlings at the 2008 Magic Millions National Sale grossed $6.187 million on 39 youngsters at an average price of $158,641.

Patinack Farm purchased four of the lots – another is the recent stakes performed youngster Tale of Thunder.
