New Appointments Enhance Magic Millions Team

Adrian HancockMagic Millions is delighted to announce three new appointments.

Renowned South Australian bloodstock agent Adrian Hancock has joined the team as an Adelaide based consultant.

Joining him on the team on a more permanent basis is well known auctioneer Julian Blaxland and new Gold Coast based bloodstock consultant Tom Inglis.

Hancock joins the team to oversee the Adelaide arm of the Magic Millions operation and his role will see him liaising closely with all tiers of the South Australian industry.

Involved with thoroughbreds since leaving school in 1972, Hancock comes into the consultancy role with a long and proud history of work in South Australia.

Hancock began his bloodstock work under legendary Adelaide based agent David Coles and spent a significant period with both ABCOS and Magic Millions at Morphettville before establishing Hancock Quality Bloodstock in 2002.

At this year’s South Australian Thoroughbred Breeders Awards Night, Hancock was presented the state’s most prestigious industry recognition, the Matrice Award.

“He’s back,” Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said. “We’re thrilled to have Adrian back on the team as our South Australian based consultant.”

“Adrian is well regarded across South Australia and indeed the country and he joins a great team we’ve assembled across the country.”

“Magic Millions is committed to South Australia – the complex is one of the best in Australasia and we recently made improvements and plan more in a boost to both vendors and buyers.”

“Adrian will play an important role with yearling inspections in South Australia as well as helping Magic Millions in developing the industry in the state.”

Hancock said he was delighted to be returning to the Magic Millions fold.

“I am delighted Vin Cox and Gerry Harvey of Magic Millions see South Australia as an integral part of their National and International agenda and after a I look forward to working with them on a consultancy basis to build the Adelaide Sales.”

Julian Blaxland“Adelaide and the industry in this state has a lot to offer with young and enthusiastic operations with Sam Hayes, David Toole and Chris Watson leading the charge.”

“We also have some outstanding young trainers coming through the ranks and it is vital we have a viable industry around them.”

“The Adelaide Sales offer a unique opportunity as I firmly believe with its wonderful selling complex and local beaches and restaurants, it gives vendors and buyers a very relaxed, easy and most pleasant experience.”

“To this end I think I can bring stability and some recognition to the Adelaide Sales and create a niche market place for breeders and buyers to enjoy,” Hancock added.

Julian Blaxland, a well known face at Magic Millions auctions on the Gold Coast, will take up an extended role with the company over the coming months.

Blaxland will become an integral member of the Magic Millions inspection team with preparations well underway for the major yearling sales in 2013.

“Julian, who will remain as one of Magic Millions’ auctioneers, will be inspecting hundreds of horses for the company as we endeavour to compile the best quality catalogues we can around the country.”

“He will in particular be inspecting a large percentage of horses in the Hunter Valley and across New South Wales.”

Tom InglisMeanwhile, Tom Inglis has taken up a full time position with Magic Millions as a bloodstock consultant.

Inglis, who has gained experience at studs and in horse stables in Australia and overseas, had been working part time for the company since September last year.

“It’s great to be part of such an exciting and enthusiastic team here in Queensland,” Inglis said.

“I have been living here on the Gold Coast for almost three years now and I am very happy to have been accepted into the team.”

Magic Millions’ Managing Director Vin Cox said he was delighted to have secured the services of Hancock, Blaxland and Inglis.

“Our team has come together brilliantly over the past few weeks with David Houston and Paul Beamish also joining the team – we couldn’t be happier,” Cox noted.

“We’re really looking forward to the upcoming sales including the Perth July Thoroughbred Sale and the National Horses in Training Sale on the Gold Coast.”
