A 5% share in the multiple Group 1-placed 3YO filly Within the Law (Lot 53) was highly sought after in today’s Magic Millions Digital (17-22 July) Sale, realising $70,000 to the bid of Yulong Investments.

Offered by Darby Racing on behalf of a client, the share attracted 23 bids from multiple states in Australia and overseas.

“It was an outstanding result given that she is currently spelling and getting ready for her Spring campaign,” said Loren Wadsworth, Racing Manager for Darby Racing

“We have always found the process of offering shares through Magic Millions Digital very straightforward and it was great that they achieved this result for our clients.”

Another strong result in the shares category was a 2.5% share in Cristal Clear (Lot 21), which sold to Graham Young for $10,000.

Recently retired four-year-old mare Kimberley Rose (Lot 41) was also popular, selling for $50,000 to Yarradale Stud after attracting 39 bids.

Offered as a breeding prospect, Kimberley Rose was a city winner and Listed-placed in the Belmont Oaks. Her dam, Ambers Waltz is well known to Magic Millions, having finished runner-up in the 2YO Classic during her racing career.

“She is a very good looking black type mare from a family that Yarradale knows well. Her dam Ambers Waltz is a half-sister to Group 2 winner War Saint that Yarradale bred and owned,” said Davy Hanratty of Yarradale Stud.

“She will visit Playing God this upcoming breeding season.”

Other strong results throughout the sale included Just So (Lot 40) selling for $40,000, Gagumaru (Lot 38) selling for $30,000 and 3YO gelding Corpulent (Lot 3) realising $22,500.

Entries are now open for the Magic Millions Digital (31 Jul-5 Aug) Sale and will close at midnight on Wednesday, July 29. 

Confirmed entries for this sale include Group 3 winning mare Niance and the first offering from the Forest View Farm Unreserved Dispersal, which will be conducted over the next two Magic Millions Digital sales.

This unreserved dispersal represents a phenomenal opportunity for buyers featuring mares in-foal to sires such as Anamoe, Toronado, Pinatubo, and Playing God, as well as a selection of racehorses, racefillies and mares, weanlings, yearlings and shares.
