| Proven Group winner producer Pellicle has sold for $180,000 and in doing so topped the Magic Millions Digital (14-19 August) Sale which concluded today. |
| Offered by Baramul Stud, as agent, Pellicle (Lot 64) was the final lot of the online offering and the quality prospect was snapped up by leading bloodstock agent Guy Mulcaster. A half sister to Divine Madonna and from the family of recent Group One winners Tentyris, Baraqiel and Autumn Angel, Pellicle is in foal to former crack Godolphin galloper Broadsiding. Due next month, the Broadsiding youngster will be the fifth foal for the mare, who produced the Group Three Gimcrack Stakes and Listed Supremacy Stakes winner Live to Tell in her first season at stud. Live to Tell also ran second in the Group Two Karrakatta Plate to outstanding WA mare Super Smink. Amongst the racehorses, five-year-old gelding Point Rocks (Lot 10) was knocked down to Tom Wolfe for $30,000. In the race fillies category, Darby Racing’s Scottish Pearl (Lot 13) also sold for $30,000 and Acquired Taste (Lot 16), offered by Peters Investments, realised $25,000. The freshly turned yearlings as part of the Forest View Farm Unreserved Dispersal attracted strong interest, with eight of the 13 yearlings receiving more than 20 bids. The Ingratiating-Rebel Assault colt (Lot 44), a half brother to Group Three Gimcrack Stakes winner Siren Assault topped the draft selling to Fenix Racing for $55,000. Over the past two Magic Millions Digital Sales the Forest View Farm Unreserved Dispersal Sale has grossed over $1.8 million. One successful and excited buyer on the day was Amy Oliver from Windmill Park Thoroughbreds. She was able to secure Snowflake from the Peters Investments draft for $10,000. Oliver, who was supported at the sale by Magic Millions’ David Houston and Charlotte Geoghegan, bid on three mares on the day. “I’m delighted to have secured a lovely three-year-old called Snowflake from the Bob Peters draft,” Oliver said. “I bid on three mares, just missed on one – but in the end I can’t wait to see what Snowflake can do over the next few years.” “I’m quite new to the owner and breeder side of the industry. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and it’s an exciting time with my first foal due any day now.” “I’ve found using Magic Millions Digital to be a dream. The platform is fantastic and very user friendly and I have really enjoyed the experience.” “Over the past six months or so in particular through Magic Millions Digital I’ve built up a wonderful relationship with Charlotte (Geoghegan). She has helped me so much and I couldn’t be more thankful.” “As I’ve been telling people – I’m realising a dream and it’s just so exciting,” she added.
